NFL Scoreboard with Live Data

Added on July 24, 2019 by Joshua McVey.

During Fox Sports pregame, halftime, and postgame shows there is a need to display one or more game scores. Astucemedia was used to help integrate live scoring into our studio graphics. These graphics still needed to have Transition Logic and allow editing for production staff.

When showing live results for a single game of football, more player stats could be shown. When using the template in the live mode many of the controls become disabled, but still allow production staff to see the values that will play to air. By switching to manual mode they can edit those same controls, but lose the live updating. This is why many of the regions of this scene / template have their own live option, so that parts can use live data and other manual.

Showing two games at once limits the information that can be shown, but means that ultimately more data needs to be retrieved from the Astucemedia servers. As with all the live data templates, they are set up to be built before an event even starts and played out whenever needed. Some controls have been put there to allow quick edits after an event. For example, we may want to change which quarterback we want to feature.
